Today “The First Planned Industrial City in America” is the chosen site for the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center. A mega facility created by the state’s major universities, the Center will utilize the water power that drove the city to manufacturing dominance in the 19th century.
Holyoke’s economy is coming full circle to its origins. Along with its long-time status as the major retail center in Western New England, Holyoke is realizing new growth and opportunity, along with a resurgence of cultural resources and visitor attractions.
